Soul Shop for Congregations
Thursday, August 4 • 7-8 p.m.
Soul Shop for Congregations is one-hour training specifically designed for local church leaders including clergy, program staff, lay ministers, office staff, teachers, counselors, Stephen Ministers and members in helping professions who want to learn how to save the life of someone contemplating suicide. The goal is to provide a network of support in our church community for people whose lives are impacted by suicide and thoughts of suicide.
The program was developed by the Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute, a Samaritan Counseling Center in Pittsburgh, PA in collaboration with the Rev. Russ Crabtree, a long-time consultant to congregations. It is being offered around the country and has had a very positive impact on the ministry of congregations to hurting members and their friends.
Paige McRight, retired executive presbyter of Central Florida Presbytery, will present the program at Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church on Thursday, August 4, 7-8 p.m.
