Pastor Melanie sets butterflies free as part of the children’s message.

In jail, there are two kinds of people: those who are free to leave (jail employees and visitors) and those who are not (the inmates).

In life, there are two kinds of people: those who are in bondage, burdened by sins and brokenness, and those who free in Christ.

In jail, it’s easy to identify the inmates – the people who are not free – based on how they are dressed. In life, it’s not so easy.

Many of us Christians, especially long-time Christians, take the gift of God’s grace for granted. We should remember that being free in Christ means being released from the penalty of our sins. It’s freedom from the power of sin in our life. One day, we will be free from the very presence of sin. And this is the message we must share with those who are not yet free, who are still in bondage, and who do not yet know the Truth that sets you free.
