work-teamThere was still plenty to do on our final day in Westmoreland, but we got it done!

Karyl Melick reports about Friday:

Friday, our last day, was sad and joyful at the same time.

We worked overtime and didn’t leave the worksite until after 5 p.m. Our normal workday ends at 3 p.m., but we didn’t want to leave the project unfinished, so we were there until dinner time.

As you can see from the pictures below, we finished the ramp and rails. Everyone work hard together, sharing jobs and helping each other like a well-oiled machine.

Harrison, Rockne and Jodi worked with the crew from Louisiana again, and they were also able to complete their project. We all felt a strong connection with the Louisiana group.

We all signed a card and gave it to the family we helped. We made a shirt for Grandpa Tim; we each put our handprint on one of his t-shirts. We presented the t-shirt along with prayer shawls for his wife and for the chief cook’s wife before we ate. Everyone had tears in their eyes.

A bonus for our relaxation time: The caretaker of the Mission Discovery property has a boxer who had eight puppies and we had fun playing with them.

Thank you for your support and prayers this week.
